Security Posts
Security posts are the cheapest, simplest way to stop your driveway being used as an overflow car park — or your vehicle being driven off it. We install them across domestic driveways and commercial premises.
About our security posts service
Security posts come in three main types: fixed (concrete-set, immovable), removable (lifted out with a key), and telescopic (drop into the ground when not needed). For most domestic driveways, telescopic is the right choice — you can drop it flush when you're parking yourself, then raise it when you're out. For commercial premises and car parks, fixed steel bollards in a hot-dip galvanised finish give 25+ years of protection. All our posts are properly socketed into concrete to BS EN standards. Where you have multiple posts (for example, blocking off a wide driveway entrance) we space them at 1.2m centres — close enough to stop a vehicle, wide enough for pedestrians. We've installed security posts across Stourbridge, Dudley, Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands for both homeowners and businesses, and we can match the powder-coated finish to your existing gates or fencing.

Free site visit to check the substrate, mark out positions, and recommend post type (fixed, removable, or telescopic).

Sockets cored or dug to the right depth (typically 600mm) — enough to anchor against vehicle impact.

Concrete set
Posts set into structural concrete and left to cure for at least 48 hours before use.

Finishing & keys
Powder-coat top-up where needed, keys handed over, instructions for any locking mechanism.

Can a security post really stop a vehicle?+
Yes — a properly socketed steel security post will stop or seriously deter any normal-size vehicle. We follow BS standards for socket depth and concrete spec, so the post is the strongest point, not the ground around it.
Do I need planning permission for security posts?+
Not for domestic driveways. Commercial installations sometimes need planning approval, especially around shop frontages — we'll flag this at the site visit.
Can the post match my existing gates?+
Yes — most posts come in standard powder-coat colours (black, anthracite grey, white) and we can also source custom RAL colours to match existing gates or fencing.
